Al-Farabi ~ The True Master

Al-Farabi The True Master
Al-Farabi is the first person who put logic into Arabic culture. His expertise is far exceeds Aristoteles. His full name is Abu Nasr Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Tarkhan bin Uzlag al-Farabi.
He born on 870 in Wasij Village, Transoxiana. When he was a boy, he known as a diligent and clever boy. He studied religion and Arabic, Turkish language,and parsi in Farab. When he adult, he moved to Baghdad and extend many kind of  knowledge, that is philosophy, logic, ethics, politics, and music. From Baghdad then he move to Harran (Iran) and studied greek philosophy to some expert. After that he come back to Baghdad.


Al-Farabi was also known as a music expert. Beside writin music theory book that titled Kitab al-Musiq al-Kabir (Buku Besar tentang Musik), he also could show his expertise playing music. When he together with Amir Aayf ad-Dawlah, Amir asked him is he like listening to the music. When al-Farabi answered yes, that ruler then called his best musicians to played music in front of him. When they played the music, al-Farabi found mistakes, and he said it to the rulers. Then Amir Sayf ad-Dawlah asked al-Farabi to played his own musical instrument. When he played it, the people there laugh. Then he changed his music composition, the people that heard it cry. Then he changed again, the people that heard it fell asleep.
