Rabi'ah Adawiyah ~

Hello, anyone ... or maybe no one.. yeah saya akan menuliskan tentang seorang wanita bernama Rabi'ah Adawiyah. Beliau adalah seorang sufi wanita yang amat terkenal pada sejarah kejayaan islam. Beliau dikenal dengan doktrin cinta pada Allah SWT.


Beliau juga terkenal karena pernah berbicara seperti ini:
"Ya Allah, kalau aku menyembahMu karena menghindar dari neraka-Mu, campakkan saja aku ke neraka. Kalau aku menyembah-Mu karenaberharap surga, tutup pintu-Mu rapat-rapat. Tapi kalau aku menyembah karena mengharap rahmat-Mu, jangan pisahkan aku dari rahmat-Mu."


Ya, menurut kalangan tertentu itu dibilang sombong tapi, coba deh pikirin lagi kalau kita menyembah Allah SWT karna ngarepin masuk surga, bukan karena mengharapkan rahmat-Nya atau cinta-Nya. maka ibadah kita bukan semata mata karna Allah SWT, tapi karna pengen surga-Nya. iya kan??


Awalnya Rabi'ah adalah seorang budak yang didapat dari perang. Ia ditangkap dan dijual pada saudagar pemilik toko besar di kota Baghdad. Rabi'ah sangat rajin mengerjakan pekerjaan yang diberikan padanya. Sayangnya tuannya sering memberikan pekerjaan yang banyak sekali. Meskipun begitu, Rabi'ah yang masih muda jarang mengeluh dan sering menghabiskan malamnya dengan shalat dan bermunajat pada Allah SWT. Lama kelamaan, hatinya dipenuhi rasa cinta yang begitu dalam hanya kepada Allah SWT. Dalam do'a Rabi'ah, ia lebih sering menangis seperti merindukan kekasihnya.


Pada suatu malam, majikan Rabi'ah terbangun. Lalu dia melewati kamar Rabi'ah dan mendengar Rabi'ah merintih dan menangis. Sang majikan terkejut dan bingung, maka dia nguping ke dinding. Rabi'ah terdengar terisak isak sambil mengucapkan, "Wahai Tuhanku, malam akan segera berlalu, dan rinduku belum habis dalam mencintai-Mu. Namun apalah dayaku? Majikanku yang kepadanya Engkau telah menitipkan diriku, akan memintaku untuk melakukan pekerjaan-pekerjaan harianku. Ampuni aku karena terlalu sebentar bercengkrama dengan-Mu, karena aku pun tak ingin mengecewakan majikanku."


Setelah mendengar itu dia pun mengintip Rabi'ah yang sedang berdo'a itu dan dia melihat sebuah lampu berayun-ayun meneranginya tanpa seutsa tali. Ia pun sangat kaget dan ketakutan, keesokan paginya sang majikan membebaskan Rabi'ah. Rabi'ah merasa senang sekali, ia pun langsung sujud syukur pada Allah SWT. Lalu ia pun membangun sebuah pondok tak jauh dari kota Baghdad dan menghabiskan waktunya beribadah pada Allah SWT.

Native deen ~ When rap music meet Islam ~

Band rap Muslim Amerika, Native Deen, menceritakan tentang bagaimana musik tidak pernah bertentangan untuk menjadi seorang Muslim yang taat.

"Masalahnya kita bicara tentang deen (agama dalam bahasa Arab) Islam adalah asli untuk setiap orang," dalam sebuah wawancara eksklusif dengan IOL.

"Kami menginginkan sesuatu dengan Arab di dalamnya tapi tidak terlalu sulit untuk diucapkan," ujarnya.

"Kami menginginkan sesuatu dengan bahasa Inggris di dalamnya sehingga kita datang dengan nama Native Deen."

Ketiga anggota dari grup hip hop Muslim Afrika-Amerika tersebut, Joshua Salaam, Abdul-Malik Ahmad dan Naeem Muhammad, membentuk grup mereka pada tahun 2000.  Semenjak itu mereka telah menggunakan musik mereka untuk mendorong agar Muslim untuk lebih taat lagi namun pada saat yang sama mencoba untuk menghantarkan isu yang mungkin mereka hadapi, seperti tekanan dari rekan sebaya atau penghinaan, sementara mereka melakukan bagian mereka untuk menyebarkan semangat nyata mereka di bulan Ramadhan.

“Kami mencoba untuk menyajikan sebuah alternatif musik yang menyenangkan, dapat dinikmati bagi Muslim yang berharap untuk menjadi orang Amerika sejati, namun menginginkan untuk mengikuti ajaran agama mereka,” ujar Ahmad. “Dalam video tersebut, kami berkeliling dunia dan bertemu dengan Muslim dari berbagai etnik dan menikmati persatuan dan perasaan persaudaraan yang dibawa oleh bulan Ramadhan.
Namun pada akhirnya kita semua bermasa-sama datang di sebuah Masjid Amerika yang berbasis di Sterling, Virginia, untuk menampilkan sebuah acara yang menunjukan budaya Muslim Amerika telah muncul dengan cepat.”

Masjid yang diikutkan dalam video mereka adalah Masjid All Dulles Area Muslim Society, atau Pusat ADAMS. Dua minggu sebelum video tersebut diambil, Native Deen mengirimkan undangan untuk anggota komunitas untuk bergabung sebagai pemain figuran dalam pengambilan gambar tersebut.

Native Deen diambil dari dua gabungan bahasa. Native, yang berarti asli, atau murni. Sedangkan Deen adalah bahasa Arab untuk agama atau jalan hidup. Muslim percaya bahwa cara hidup yang alami, asli, bagi seluruh mahluk itu adalah Islam, karena Islam adalah agama dimana anda dapat berserah penuh ke satu-satunya Pencipta, dengan hidup sesuai dengan hukum alam dan tidak bertentangan dengannya.

Tiga pemuda ini dibesarkan sebagai Muslim di Amerika muncul sebagai kelompok Nasyid Islami dan telah memberikan inspirasi kepada penggemar mereka di seluruh dunia. Menarik inspirasi mereka sendiri dari pesan-pesan dalam Islam. Musik Native Deen meminta para pendengarnya untuk menjaga iman mereka, untuk terus menjalani hidup yang lebih baik, dan tidak menyerah kepada tekanan dan godaan dari masyarakat modern.

Native Deen hanya menggunakan instrumen perkusi, sesuai dengan mayoritas opini Muslim mengenai instrumen musik. Namun ini tidak menghalangi kreatifitas musikal kelompok itu, namun justru menghasilkan sebuah upaya audio yang berupa peleburan street rap, Hip-hop, dan R&B.
Kelompok yang telah menduduki salah satu peringkat 5 band lokal teratas di genre musiknya di MySpace, telah menginspirasi jutaan orang dari berbagai usia dan etnis dari seluruh dunia.

Native Deen telah berkeliling ke lebih dari 60 kota di Amerika, Afrika, Asia, Eropa dan Timur Tengah, mempromosikan Islam dan hubungan antar keyakinan yang positif, dan telah melakukan penampilan bersama legenda seperti Yusuf Islam (sebelumnya dikenal sebagai Cat Stevens).  Single terbaru mereka akan ada dalam album ketiga mereka, setelah dua album pertama mereka yang diterima dengan baik, "Deen You Know" dan "Not Afraid to Stand Alone."

Puisi Hasan al Bashri

Halo .. actually I'm too tired using english.. therefore saya akan gunakan bahasa Indonesia ..
Sebelumnya saya melihat ke dinding .. dan lalu saya melihat kertas kertas yang memang sengaja di tempelkan .. salah satu di antaranya berisikan puisi yang menurut saya indah ..

Aku tahu, rizkiku tak mungkin diambil orang lain

Karenanya hatiku tenang

Aku tahu, amal-amalku tak mungkin dilakukan orang lain

Maka, aku sibukkan diriku bekerja dan beramal

Aku tahu, Allah selalu melihatku

Karenanya, aku malu bila Allah mendapatiku melakukan maksiat

Maryam ~ a woman whose name was enshrined in Al-Qur'an

Hello .. You must be know about Maryam. The only one figure woman whose name was enshrined in Al-Qur'an is Maryam. This name often combined with Prophet Isa name. Maryam's name was mentioned as much as 34 times in Al-Qur'an, spread in 12 surah. Moreover there is a surah Al-Qur'an that named "surah Maryam".
This surah that consist of 98 verses included surah Makkiyah, because almost all of the verses revealed before Prophet Muhammad SAW hijrah to Madina, moreover before Prophet SAW's comrade hijrah to Habsyi country (Ethiopia). Maryam story on Al-Qur'an prove her glory at the sight of Allah SWT, so that she as a figure woman fit to be an example for muslims.


Maryam cared by Prophet Zakaria AS after handed over by her mother, Hannah. Maryam's mother had promised and planned it before Maryam born. In the of the Prophet Zakaria, Maryam showed special characters like moral virtue and her obedience on worshiping to Allah SWT.


Maryam's amazing and wonderful stories on surah Maryam started with amazing and wonderful event too, it's story about Prophet Zakaria AS. Allah SWT fulfill Prophet Zakaria prayer that pleaded for a son (Prophet Yahya) as a heir and progessors of his goals. Actually, Zakaria was very old. Normally, his wife (Elisabeth, Maryam's sister) should no longer to give birth because she was barren.


In Al-Qur'an is told that at one time in Maryam's room obtained fruits. When saw that, Prophet Zakaria AS shocked and asked to Maryam, "Hey Maryam, where did you get this (food)?" Maryam answered, "This food was from Allah. Actually Allah giving sustenance to whomsoever without reckoning." (Q.3:37)


Maryam came from Imran family. Maryam means "blameless". After her father died, she cared by Prophet Zakaria. When she was in a mihrab, Maryam visited by a malaika. That messengers told that Maryam was chosen by Allah to contain a holy son that will be a Prophet. Maryam shocked after heard this message because she was never been touched by a man. She worried will be ridiculed by people if she is pregnant. When her obstetrician got bigger, she avoided the crowds, then she moved to her village, Nasaret. Maryam birth a baby, that is Prophet Isa, without a husband (Q.3:45-48; 19:16-35; 21:91; 66:12). After she give birth, Maryam felt hungry and thirsty, she rocking date palm (Q.19:22-26), then ate the fruits that dropped.

Site of The Prophets

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb. 
Hello readers .. Today I wanna share a list of the prophets sites. Story about the prophets in the past can be traced through the relics, a tomb, mosque, and etc. I'll gave you a list that show some historic place (site) of the prophets that spread around Arabia Jazirah, start from Prophet Adam AS until Prophet Muhammad SAW, except Prophet Ayub AS, Prophet Ilyasa AS, and Prophet Zulkifli AS whom relics didn't found.


Prophet Adam AS

• Arafah in Saudi Arabia, place where Adam and Hawa met, now it's named Jabal ar-Rahmah.

Prophet Idris AS

• Munaf in Egypt, place where Prophet Idris AS born.

Prophet Nuh AS

• Armenia, the place where Prophet Nuh AS preaching to the Armenia
• Judie mountain around Mausul River, Iraq, that estimated as a place of Prophet Nuh's boat

Prophet Hud AS

• Ahqaf (between Yemen and Oman), where Prophet Hud AS preaching among the Ad people.

Prophet Saleh AS

• Hijir (mountain area between Madina in Saudi Arabia and Syira). Prophet Saleh AS preaching to Thamoods  in this country.

Prophet Ibrahim AS

• Babilonia (now Iraq), where Prophet Ibrahim AS born.
• Ka'bah in Saudi Arabia, the first house of worship that build by Prophet Ibrahim AS and his son, Ismail.
• Haran ( area between Dajlah River and Furat River, Palestine)
• Aleppo (Syira area) where Prophet Ibrahim stop by on the way to Syam and place where he milking his sheep.

Prophet Ismail AS

• Muzdalifah (Saudi Arabia), where Prophet Ibrahim AS would slaughter his son.
• Arafah (Saudi Arabia), where Prophet Ibrahim AS together again with Ismail and Siti Hajar, his wife.
• Barren valley between Safa and Marwah, Mecca, Saudi Arabia. There Hajar search water for Ismail and suddenly in that place the water out from springs (Zamzam Springs)
• Hill in Mina, there are three pillars which is where pilgrims throm jumrah which is the description of event when the Prophet Ibrahim AS drive out the devil who wants to thwart Allah command to sacrifice ismail.

Prophet Luth AS

• Sodom, where Prophet Luth AS preaching. People that live in that country didn't following Allah and like the same gender. Therefore. Allah SWT gave the punishment with destroyed Sodom people. The location of Sodom expected located in the coastal death ocean, in south-east of palestine.

Prophet Ishaq AS

• Tomb of Prophet Ishaq AS, according to Jewish tradition, located in Hebron, Palestine areas. Inside it also occur Prophet Ibrahim AS and Ya'qub AS tombs. They are ancestor of israelites.

Prophet Ya'qub AS

• Kanaan, Palestine, where Prophet Ya'qub born. But some history said that he born in Nebulis country and passed away in Egypt. Jewish tradition said that he passed away in Hebron (Palestine) .

Prophet Yusuf AS

• Egypt, where Prophet Yusuf AS grown and preaching.

Prophet Syu'aib AS

• Madyan, where Prophet Syu'aib preaching.

Prophet Musa AS

• Egypt, where Prophet Musa AS born when Fir'aun (Ramses II) ruled Egypt and regard hisself as god.
• Madyan (southen part of palestine), where Prophet Musa AS escaped when chased by Fir'aun soldiers.
• Sinai Mountain in Thuwa valley (Egypt areas), where Prophet Musa AS received his first revelation and miracle.
• Red Sea in Egypt region devided when Prophet Musa AS and his followers running from Fir'aun, so they could cross that sea safely.

Prophet Harun AS

• Egypt, where Prophet Harun AS accompany Prophet Musa preaching.

Prophet Daud AS

• Betlehem, where Prophet Daud AS live then became Bani Israil king with capital city Yerusalem.

Prophet Sulaiman AS

• Baitulmakdis, Prophet Sulaiman AS replacing his father as a king, then he build Baitulmakdis.

Prophet Ilyas AS

• Baalbek, where Prophet Ilyas preaching to Bani Israil people.

Prophet Yunus AS

• Ninawa, where Prophet Yunus preaching to Ninawa people.

Prophet Zakaria AS

• Israel, where Prophet Yunus preaching.

Prophet Yahya AS

• Israel, where Prophet Yahya continue his father preaching.
• Yordan River, where Prophet Yahya purifying Bani Israil people as a signthat they were repent.

Prophet Isa AS

• Betlehem, Palestine, where Prophet Isa AS born.
• Zaitun Hill, Yerusalem, where Prophet Isa AS received his prophetic task.

Prophet Muhammad SAW

• Mecca (Saudi Arabia), where Prophet Muhammad born.
• Cave of Hira (Saudi Arabia), where Prophet Muhammad got his first revelation. Now it known as Jabal Nur.
• Yastrib that then known with Madinah an Nabi (kota Nabi) or Madinah al Munawwarah, where the Prophet SAW hijrah.
• Quba mosque, Build by Prophet SAW when he stop by in Quba village on the way to Madina.
• Nabawi mosque, build by Prophet SAW with Muslim people in the center of Madina town after hijrah.
• Badr valley, Badr war location between the Mushrikeen Quraish and Muslim people. 
• Uhud hill, location of Uhud war.
• Khandaq, location of Khandaq war.
• Masjidilaqsa in Yerusalem, where Prophet Muhammad SAW start mikraj for then met with Allah SWT.
• Mecca, location of Fath Makkah event.Where muslim people cleaned Ka'bah.

Fatimah Az-Zahra

Fatimah is the beloved daughter of prophet Muhammad SAW and his wife Khadijah. She also a wife of Ali bin Abi Thalib (the last great Caliph). She birth Hasan, Husein, Muhassin, Zainab and Ummi Kulsum. Fatimah born  at 20th Jumadilakhir.

She was a muslimah that was closest and longest accompany Prophet SAW in teaching Islam. Fatimah also known as a grand lady noble.

When she was 14 years old, Fatimah was left by her mother Khadijah. Prophet Muhammad SAW really love Fatimah. To showed how he really love Fatimah, he said "Fatimah is a part of me, who is hurt her it means hurt me, who is cheer her, it means cheer me too." Otherwise , Fatimah also love her father. when prophet SAW sick before his death, She didn't stop crying. Her cry became louder when prophet SAW whispered something to her. But after the second whisper, Fatimah smiling. To people that asked her about it, she explained that her father whispered that Fatimah is the first person that will meet him in the afterlife.

Al-Farabi ~ The True Master

Al-Farabi The True Master

Al-Farabi is the first person who put logic into Arabic culture. His expertise is far exceeds Aristoteles. His full name is Abu Nasr Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Tarkhan bin Uzlag al-Farabi.
He born on 870 in Wasij Village, Transoxiana. When he was a boy, he known as a diligent and clever boy. He studied religion and Arabic, Turkish language,and parsi in Farab. When he adult, he moved to Baghdad and extend many kind of  knowledge, that is philosophy, logic, ethics, politics, and music. From Baghdad then he move to Harran (Iran) and studied greek philosophy to some expert. After that he come back to Baghdad.


Al-Farabi was also known as a music expert. Beside writin music theory book that titled Kitab al-Musiq al-Kabir (Buku Besar tentang Musik), he also could show his expertise playing music. When he together with Amir Aayf ad-Dawlah, Amir asked him is he like listening to the music. When al-Farabi answered yes, that ruler then called his best musicians to played music in front of him. When they played the music, al-Farabi found mistakes, and he said it to the rulers. Then Amir Sayf ad-Dawlah asked al-Farabi to played his own musical instrument. When he played it, the people there laugh. Then he changed his music composition, the people that heard it cry. Then he changed again, the people that heard it fell asleep.

The Black Muslims

Elijah Muhammad

An Islamic group that grow in the U.S. in the early 20th century. This group at the first known with Black MuslimNation of Islam, and then American Muslim Mission. Black Muslims grew into a religious and nasionalist  group of African descent in America.This group was established by Wallace D. Fard in Detroit on year 1930, and immediately attracted many followers. They consider Wallace as a "Prophet". When Wallace disappear mysteriously on year 1934, he was replaced by Elijah Muhammad, that moves the headquarters organization to Chicago, then he make it into a large influental organization.
Wallace D. Fard is also known with other name, Wallace Fard Muhammad, Farrad Muhammad and Wali Farad. Before he established Black Muslims, Wallace has ever joined with American Moor people, that established on year 1913 by Noble Drew Ali. Wallace also had established Fruits of Islam, teens organization that give martial arts training as a tool the defends the black.
The succes of Black Muslims also got because Malcolm Little (1925-1965), a pastor's son. After he conferted to Islam, he changed his name to Malcolm X. Malcolm X became the Black Muslims hardest spokesman, both in the country and out of the country. With Martin Lither King Jr., he critize injuctice based on race in U.S. But he rejected King's anti-violence stance.
Elijah Muhammad is a son of a pastor in Georgia. He met Wallace and then replaced hin leading Black Muslims.

The Greatest Dessert Explorer

Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Battuta is the biggest explorer in the middle ages. He is a muslim explorer. 
Around the autumn, he starts his journey explore the largest desert, Sahara Desert.

At that time, no one knows what mystery that lies there. Then he tried to along the ancient route that usually passed by the salt and gold trader. Then he knows that Sahara is not just a wide sandy plain.


Ibn Battuta found Ahaggar mountain with some peaks as high as 3000 meter, large rivers, swampy area, and fertile oasis. Of course he also stopover in some trading town, met the hunters, and saw  African animals that almost he never known.
He has been explore from Spain in the west until China in east, from Timbuktu in west Africa until steppe desert in Rusia. Some historian think that Ibn Battuta exceed Marco Polo. 
Ibn Battuta was not just exploring and visiting many countries. He was also practice his knowledge that he has.


Around 1330-1333, Ibn Battuta arrived in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. He found precious goods there. Ho got scrolls cantaining Hadith Prophet that written by Bukhari-Muslim.
All of his journey was wrote by hisself  in a book that known with name Rihla that means journey. He wrote it with help from a scholar named Ibn Juazzy.
The real name of Rihla is Tuhfatal-Nuzzarfi Ghara'ibal Amsharwa'ajaib Al-Ashfar, the meaning approximately is boon for those who appreciate the wonders of the cities and journey.
